Baramulla bribery case: J&K ACB files chargesheet against ex-patwari, lumberdar

Jammu and Kashmir ACB filed a chargesheet against Fida Hussain Shah, former patwari of halqa Khawaja Bagh, and Manzoor Ahmad Mir, former lumberdar of Gutiyar, Baramulla.

The case was registered on April 16, 2024, based on a complaint alleging demand for illegal gratification for issuing revenue/NOC reports needed for building permission applications.

ACB collected oral, documentary, electronic and scientific evidence, including recovery of the tainted amount and forensic examination of exhibits.

Sanction for prosecution was granted by the government of Jammu & Kashmir for the then patwari.

Chargesheet was filed under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, read with Section 120-B IPC.
