What is Seller, Meta's new Facebook marketplace app for online sellers?

Meta launched a new standalone app called Seller for Facebook Marketplace sellers to manage listings, use AI tools, and verify accounts.

Seller is Meta's second community-focused app this year, following Forum for Facebook Groups users, launched in May.

Tom Alison, head of Facebook, said Seller targets high-intensity Marketplace users and is part of an experimental effort to complement the main app.

Facebook Marketplace has over 430 million items listed globally each month, including about 44 million vehicles.

Marketplace helps keep Facebook relevant among younger users, with about one-third of young adult daily users also using Marketplace.
