  1. The Times of India is launching #IamBengaluru – Volunteer for Parks, a citizen-led civic movement to care for, maintain, and revitalise parks in Bengaluru.

  2. Residents can find and sign up for volunteering activities near them through iambengaluru.co.in, and NGOs and civic partners can mobilise volunteers more effectively.

  3. The campaign will cover 300 parks in its first year and expand to 900 parks over the next three years.

  4. The initiative is supported by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and aligns with the Karnataka govt's Brand Bengaluru vision.

  5. The launch coincides with the United Nations declaring 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026).
