Woman leaves Google job to pursue filmmaking

Trinette Faint was laid from her executive business partner role at Google in November 2024, where she earned over $200,000 including base salary and equity.

The layoff occurred two weeks after her senior dog died and just before she underwent knee surgery, which she rescheduled to keep company health insurance.

Faint turned to acting, filmmaking, screenwriting, and entrepreneurship after the layoff, realizing her own life mirrored a TV pilot she had written.

Despite earning far less, she says the career change was "absolutely worth it" with "zero regrets" and feels "much more fulfilled".
