British footballer's 2-year-old brother dies after being found unresponsive in pool during Spain holiday

Hartley Wareham, 2-year-old brother of Exeter City footballer Jayden Wareham, died on 3 July after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool on 29 June during a family holiday in Spain.

Hartley's father pulled him from the water and performed CPR; paramedics restored his heartbeat, but he died four days later from immersion in water and acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Exeter City expressed condolences and support for the Wareham family in a Facebook statement.

The family launched a JustGiving fundraiser to create a Hey Duggee memorial bench, with excess funds going to bereavement counselling.
