Bikaner heroin, weapons haul points to Punjab prison nexus

Police seized 10 kg of Afghan heroin and 11 foreign-made pistols, including two Turkish-made pistols and four Glock pistols, in Bikaner's Khajuwala area during Operation Shock Wave.

Bikaner police will seek production warrants within one to two days to interrogate suspects lodged in Punjab jails, linked to an international smuggling network operated by inmates.

Alleged mastermind Rakesh Prajapat, a resident of Pali district and wanted in multiple cases, remains absconding; he is suspected of recruiting local youths after contact with a Pakistan-linked network in a Punjab jail.

Arrested accused Virendra Singh, also from Pali, was taken into custody; the consignment is suspected to have been smuggled via drones from Pakistan, with origins in Afghanistan.

The joint operation by District Special Team and Khajuwala police also recovered 100 live cartridges, 22 magazines, and a motorcycle.
