Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez ends governor campaign

Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez ended her Democratic primary campaign for governor due to financial reporting issues.

Rodriguez fired her campaign manager, Kara Spencer, on July 13, 2026, citing serious mismanagement and discrepancies in financial reporting.

Rodriguez stated the campaign had around $200,000 in cash after discovering double-counting of contributions.

Rodriguez said she was 'deeply hurt and betrayed' and that the financial issues would be an ongoing distraction.

Rodriguez expressed gratitude to supporters and urged them to continue their efforts for Wisconsin Democrats.
