Navi Mumbai: Pregnant Woman Recovers After Alleged Dexamethasone Reaction As NMMC Probes Expectant Mothers

Richa Mishra (26), 34 weeks pregnant, recovered after severe anaphylactic shock from Dexamethasone injection at NMMC's Rajmata Jijau Hospital.

She was treated at Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, discharged on July 13 after intensive care including ventilator and inotropic support.

Her recovery follows the death of eight-month-pregnant Sonam Dongre under similar circumstances at the same civic hospital.

NMMC suspended gynaecologist Dr Bhavana Pagare and is investigating the death with FDA examining the injection batch.

Doctors advised Mishra to avoid Dexamethasone due to suspected allergy; her unborn baby monitored and remains stable.
