Alert bus conductor, commuters help techie get back stolen mobile in Bengaluru

Software engineer Likhith had his mobile phone worth Rs 35,000 stolen by a gang of four while boarding BMTC bus NICE 10E (KA-57-F-5969) at Electronics City stop in Bengaluru.

Bus conductor Umesh locked the bus doors and warned passengers the bus would go to the police station unless the phone was returned.

One accused threw the phone back through a window and escaped; two minors also fled, while Prem, 40, was trapped by passengers and crew.

Prem attempted to jump from the emergency exit and bit his lips and tongue to fake an injury, but was stopped by passengers and the conductor.

Likhith called helpline 112 and lodged a complaint; one pickpocket was arrested and three escaped.
