India's MEA rejected Pakistan's 'baseless' claim that India caused flooding by releasing river waters.

Pakistan's own flood forecasting division in Lahore issued an advisory on July 22 attributing high flood levels in the Chenab to heavy rainfall over the upper catchment area.
The Pakistani advisory stated high flows at Marala were expected to persist before gradually receding as rainfall increased over the catchment.
Jaiswal rejected claims that India withheld flood warnings, noting that river flows on the Indian side did not reach 'extraordinary discharge levels' requiring special warnings.
