'Not able to eat properly': Preeti reveals weight-cut struggle after reaching CWG final

Indian boxer Preeti Pawar reached the women's 54kg final at the Commonwealth Games, defeating Zambia's Catherine Mwape 5-0.

Preeti will face Canada's Scarlett Delgado in the gold medal bout; Delgado beat England's Lauren Mackie 4-1.

Preeti stated that weight cutting is tough because it prevents proper eating, but it motivates her as she is one step away from the final.

The 22-year-old from Bhiwani, who won a bronze at the Asian Games, controlled the bout with left straights and counters.

Mwape received three eight counts in the first two rounds, and all five judges scored the second round 10-8 for Preeti.
