58% of IRCTC booking requests were automated, access denied: Railways

Indian Railways reported 58% of IRCTC booking requests in the past six months were from bots, not real people.

On average, 888 crore bot requests out of 1,538 crore monthly requests were denied access to the e-ticketing system.

Railway Minister Ashwni Vaishnaw stated the system uses bot managers with user behavioural analysis and risk scoring to distinguish humans from bots.

Over 3 crore suspicious user IDs were deactivated, and 6.2 crore were placed under revalidation during 2025-26 and 2026-27.

Since 2021, the Railway Protection Force has arrested 22,676 touts involved in fraudulent booking activities.
