Gorakhpur: Boy, 9, killed, cousin critical in revenge attack over eve-teasing complaint

A nine-year-old boy, Saras Singh, was killed and his 16-year-old cousin Shiv Kumar critically injured in an attack by men with sticks, iron rods and bricks in Pipraich on Saturday evening.

The attack was retaliation for a complaint over the alleged harassment of a Class 11 female relative.

Police said Shiv Kumar was the primary target, but Saras intervened and sustained fatal injuries.

An FIR was registered; three police teams formed to arrest the accused, who fled.

SSP Dr Kaustubh attached Pipraich SHO Vivek Trivedi to Police Lines and appointed Anoop Singh as new station in-charge.
