Sonora fire: Check evacuation map and visuals from Tuolumne County as 'Dove Fire' spreads fast

The Dove Fire broke out in the Mill Villa area near Highway 108 and Stockton Road, southwest of Sonora in Tuolumne County.

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for McKibbon Drive, Golden Dove Lane, Crooked Lane, Southgate Road and Stockton Road.

Highway 108 at Stockton Road and Stockton Road at Woodside were closed to provide emergency vehicle access.

The fire grew to about 50 acres and spread through dry vegetation, with hot temperatures and gusty winds hampering firefighting.

A temporary shelter for pets opened at Tuolumne County Animal Control; large animals can be taken to the Posse Grounds.
