FIFA President Gianni Infantino travelled almost three times the Earth's circumference during the World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino traveled an estimated 106,323 km (66,066 miles) during the 2026 World Cup, nearly three times the Earth's circumference.

His private jet flights, using a Gulfstream G650, produced an estimated 1,020.3 tonnes of CO₂e, prompting climate campaigners to question FIFA's sustainability commitments.

Infantino attended 44 of 104 matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, often attending more than one match per day and taking flights between cities.
