Labourer dead after inhaling toxic gas in Hisar sewage tank

A 22-year-old labourer, Monu Kumar, died after inhaling toxic gas in a sewage tank at the sewage treatment plant in Gangwa village, Hisar district.

Another labourer, Sonu, was hospitalized and is in stable condition after exposure to the gas.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when the workers entered the tank to clear a blocked pipeline at the water supply plant.

Toxic gas was released when the pipeline opened during the clearing attempt, causing both workers to fall unconscious.

The victim's family has accused the plant management of gross negligence for not providing safety equipment like gas masks or oxygen cylinders.
