Joni Mitchell’s former Malibu home is listed for $27 million; its beachfront pool may be impossible to recreate today

Joni Mitchell's former Malibu Colony home was built in 1982 and designed by architect Ron Goldman.

The oceanfront property features a rare beachfront swimming pool and spa that would be difficult to build under current coastal regulations.

The home offers five bedrooms, five bathrooms, direct beach access, and Pacific Ocean views.

Mitchell sold the property to former Walt Disney Company board director John Bryson and his wife Louise, who are now listing it.

Listing agent Joyce Rey noted the pool and spa are grandfathered under older rules, making them increasingly rare.
