  1. Delhi's PWD invited bids for consultancy services to convert the bungalow at 33, Shamnath Marg into an integrated control and command centre for the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

  2. The bungalow has been considered “jinxed” as five occupants between 1952 and 2013, including chief ministers Chaudhary Brahm Prakash and Madan Lal Khurana, left office abruptly.

  3. The selected agency will finalize the master plan, provide architectural drawings, and undertake structural changes for the command centre.

  4. Around ₹20 lakh will be spent on planning, with completion expected within the current financial year.

  5. Built in the 1920s, the colonial-era bungalow includes lawns, fountains, an outhouse, and staff quarters.
