Mumbai Rains: IMD Issues Nowcast Orange Alert For City, Thane & Navi Mumbai, Predicts Moderate To Intense

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an Orange Alert for Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and other districts on Friday, warning of moderate to intense rainfall.
The alert covers Mumbai, Raigad, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Pune, Beed, Ahilyanagar, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, Jalna, and Latur.
Gusty winds of up to 60 kmph are expected during intense spells of rain, and officials advised citizens to stay indoors and monitor weather updates.
A Yellow Alert had previously been issued for Mumbai and Thane, warning of heavy rainfall at isolated places.
The total usable water stock in seven reservoirs rose from 88.55% to 88.58% between July 30 and July 31, with a total of 12,82,029 million litres stored.
