Maharashtra min Nitesh Rane acquitted in 2013 toll booth assault, vandalism case

Mapusa court acquitted Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane in the 2013 Dhargal toll booth vandalism and assault case.

The prosecution failed to prove charges against Rane and eight others.

Rane allegedly vandalised the booth after being denied exemption from paying the entry fee based on being son of then Maharashtra Congress leader Narayan Rane.

The entry fee on non-Goa-registered vehicles was imposed by the Manohar Parrikar government and was in place from 2013 to 2017.
