Karwar Fishermen Celebrate Massive Fish Catch as Traditional Fishing Yields Rich Haul

Traditional fishermen along the Karwar coast reported a massive fish catch at the start of the new fishing season.

Favourable weather conditions and strong market demand raised hopes of better incomes for fishing communities.

The abundant catch was brought ashore using traditional Yendi nets, with tons of various fish species caught in a single haul.

Fresh fish from Karwar is being transported to Karnataka districts like Dharwad, Belagavi, and Shivamogga, as well as to Goa and Maharashtra.

Senior fishermen believe that if favourable weather continues, the current season could become one of the most rewarding in recent years.
