BMC's General Body approved the 'Mayor Gen Next Civic Fellows' programme, a six-month pilot in 10 wards with 50 fellows aged 18-30.
Fellows will monitor potholes, waste management, public transport, and civic infrastructure, submitting digital reports via a mobile app.
Selected fellows receive structured training, a monthly stipend, and a certificate upon completion.
If successful, the programme will expand to 200 fellows across all Mumbai wards.
BJP Corporator Tajinder Satnam Singh Tiwana proposed the initiative to create a technology-driven, citizen-centric monitoring system.
