Kurla railway cop booked for demanding ₹3,000 bribe

ACB, Mumbai booked police constable Sudhir Waghmare of Kurla Railway Police Station for demanding a bribe from a footwear vendor.

Waghmare allegedly claimed the vendor's mobile phone was stolen and summoned him to the station on November 24, 2025.

During a meeting on November 26, 2025, Waghmare demanded ₹10,000 to settle the matter, later negotiated down to ₹3,000.

The vendor filed a complaint with ACB on November 28, 2025, and a verification on December 2, 2025 confirmed the bribe demand.

A criminal case against Waghmare was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
