Mumbai Citizens To Protest Against Conversion Of Historic Neville DSouza Football Ground Into Convention

Citizens, football fans and environmental campaigners will protest on July 19 against the proposed redevelopment of Neville D'Souza Football Ground at Bandra Reclamation, Mumbai.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation plans to replace the 8,450-sq m sports facility with a convention and exhibition centre under Development Plan 2034.
Over 47,000 signatures have been collected across three Change.org petitions supporting preservation of the ground.
Campaigners argue that converting a public playground sets a dangerous precedent for Mumbai's open spaces, as sports grounds cannot be replaced once lost.
