Sukhu launches thematic garden project in Kangra

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched the Thematic Garden Project at Durgesh Aranya International Zoo, Dehra in Kangra district.

The project received ₹4 crore funding via Himachal Pradesh State Biodiversity Board (HPSBB) to the chief wildlife warden.

The 22,247 sq m (5.5-acre) garden includes a Ficarium showcasing Ficus species, an arboretum with indigenous and exotic trees, a watch tower, and a bamboosetum with diverse bamboo species.

The garden aims to conserve biodiversity while promoting environmental education, scientific research, and sustainable eco-tourism.
