FDA shuts shop owned by Siya Goyal’s father

Maharashtra FDA ordered closure of B.G. Goyal & Company, a dry fruits and spices shop owned by Praveen Goyal, father of murder accused Siya Goyal.
The action was part of the FDA's statewide 'Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra' enforcement drive on July 14, 2026.
Officials seized 4,172 kg of food products worth ₹8.14 lakh over suspected adulteration and labelling violations.
Four food samples were collected including turmeric powder (Sant and Sadhu brands), sesame seeds, and soybean chunks.
The statewide drive also seized food products worth ₹8.33 lakh from three establishments in Pune division and prohibited items worth ₹22,789 from Pune and Kolhapur.
