UIDAI Aadhaar App hits 4 crore downloads

UIDAI's New Aadhaar App has crossed 4 crore (40 million) downloads since its launch on January 28, 2026, replacing the older mAadhaar app.

The app allows users to update mobile number (49 lakh updates), address (11.65 lakh updates), and email (12.5 lakh updates), and download e-Aadhaar.

Users have locked or unlocked Aadhaar biometrics over 1.91 crore times via the app, which also supports Face ID-based authentication and QR code sharing.

The app enables consent-based sharing of selected Aadhaar details and allows adding up to five Aadhaar profiles on one device, aiming to reduce visits to Aadhaar centres.
