Missing forest team near Assam-Nagaland border traced safe after 2 days: Official

A team of 23 Assam forest officials and 3 villagers was traced safe after going missing for nearly two days near the Assam-Nagaland border.

The team lost contact on July 24 while patrolling in the remote forests along the Dima Hasao-Karbi Anglong-Nagaland border, an area with little mobile network.

Forest minister Jayanta Mallabaruah confirmed the team was safe after a search operation involving police, district administration, and drone surveillance.

Divisional forest officer Tuhin Langthasa said the team likely lost its way after connectivity cut off and unintentionally crossed into Nagaland before being located.
