Dadar Fish Market Row Turns Violent; Housing Society Member Assaulted At Home, 4 Booked

Raj Ramchandra Pawar, a 35-year-old Dadar resident, was assaulted at his home in Swarajya Co-operative Housing Society after the society's legal action led to a Bombay High Court order relocating roadside fish vendors.
Four men—Kalpesh Parulekar, Vinayak Kalelkar, Shubham Gupta, and Franky Sebastian Saldanha—have been booked for trespass, assault, and issuing death threats.
The dispute began when the housing society took legal action against fish vendors, citing traffic congestion, unhygienic conditions, and safety risks.
Pawar received a threatening call at 12:15 am on July 12, and later three men forced entry into his home and assaulted him.
Police detained Saldanha and Kalelkar at the scene; the case is registered under relevant Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions.
