Shinde unveils ₹200-crore project to decongest Thane junction

Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde launched the ₹200-crore Teen Hath Naka Traffic Improvement Project to ease congestion at one of Asia's busiest junctions.

The project, led by MMRDA, includes a 2.76-km elevated corridor, a 1.9-km U-shaped flyover, and connectors to make four major traffic movements signal-free.

Teen Hath Naka serves traffic between Mumbai, Thane, Ghodbunder Road, Gujarat, Nashik, and the Samruddhi Expressway; commuters often wait up to 15 minutes at signals during peak hours.

The project aims to reduce travel time and fuel consumption, improving inter-city and inter-state traffic flow across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Shinde said the project was approved during his tenure as Chief Minister and is expected to be completed within 18 months.
