Mumbai Airport Customs arrested 24-year-old Zaid Yunus Shaikh from Mira Road for smuggling 515 grams of hydroponic weed from Bangkok.

The drugs were concealed beneath the soles of sneakers in his travel bag, discovered due to unusual weight.

Shaikh admitted he was aware of the legal consequences but was motivated by quick money to smuggle the contraband.

Customs investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspected associates involved in the case.

Shaikh was granted bail in court, with advocate Ashish Singh representing him.
