Odisha police summon ex-IAS officer V.K. Pandian over missing inquiry reports

V.K. Pandian, former IAS officer and ex-private secretary to ex-CM Naveen Patnaik, summoned by Odisha police over missing inquiry reports.
The Capital Police Station, Bhubaneswar, issued a notice for Pandian to appear before the assistant commissioner of police, Zone-I, on July 25, 2026, at 11 am.
The missing reports are the Justice A.S. Naidu Commission report on the 2008 killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati and the Revenue Divisional Commissioner’s inquiry report on the 2016 SUM Hospital fire.
Police previously summoned former IT secretary Manoj Mishra and IAS officer Rajesh Verma; Mishra recorded his statement, Verma did not appear.
The Odisha home department filed an FIR under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for criminal breach of trust and destruction of official documents.
