WATCH: Messi seen for first time since painful World Cup final loss, emerges in Rosario to fans’ cheers
Lionel Messi made his first public appearance since Argentina's 1-0 loss to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, attending a local match in Rosario.
Messi watched a game involving Leones FC, his brother's club, and was cheered by fans as he smiled and waved from a stadium balcony.
The 39-year-old Inter Miami forward scored eight goals and four assists during the tournament, but was visibly emotional after the final.
Messi did not travel back with Argentina's squad after the final, instead returning privately to Rosario with his family.
