Shaheen Afridi nearly exits LPL over franchise error

Shaheen Shah Afridi nearly quit the Lanka Premier League after a team-sheet error by Kandy Royals prevented him from playing as Impact Player despite a promise.

Kandy Royals submitted an incorrect team sheet that omitted Afridi as the designated Impact Player, so he could not replace a starting XI member during the match.

Afridi took the issue to the LPL Anti-Corruption Unit; the matter escalated to the match referee and involved franchise officials and tournament organisers.

Kandy Royals officials and LPL organisers apologised to Afridi and convinced him to stay in the tournament instead of returning to Pakistan.
