Himachal Pradesh: Pregnant buffalo gets new lease on life after 66 metal objects removed from stomach

Veterinarians removed 66 sharp metal objects from a nine-month pregnant buffalo's stomach in Himachal Pradesh's Una district.

The surgery at Veterinary Polyclinic in Lalri extracted nails, wires, and metal fragments that threatened the buffalo's life.

Livestock owner Karnail Singh brought the buffalo after it stopped eating for ten days; ultrasound confirmed metallic foreign bodies.

The buffalo's condition is improving with pain relief and will receive specialist care for the next seven to ten days.

Veterinary officer Dr Nishant Ranaut urged livestock owners to inspect animal feed for metal fragments to prevent ingestion.
