Police constable recruitment examination: Karnataka Examinations Authority seeks report on Tikota OMR row

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) sought a report from Vijayapura deputy commissioner over an incident at Sharadamba PU College examination centre in Tikota during the police constable recruitment exam.

Candidates at the Tikota centre created confusion about serial numbers on OMR answer sheets and question papers; KEA rules do not require them to match.

Some candidates left the centre within 30 minutes, taking OMR sheets and question papers and climbing over the compound wall, which KEA says is an offence.

The exam was held at 884 centres across Karnataka, including 149 in Bengaluru, with 92.5% of 3.8 lakh RPC candidates and 94% of 76,676 KKC candidates appearing.

KEA executive director H Prasanna said candidates should have raised concerns with officials; 120 candidates at the Tikota centre completed the exam despite the disruption.
