Ludhiana: Procedural lapse alleged after duplicate FIR against PSPCL JE

Two FIRs were registered against PSPCL junior engineer Bikkar Singh for the same alleged offence of failing to submit stock reconciliation records for 2023-24.

Sarabha Nagar police registered the first FIR on March 20, 2026; PAU police filed a duplicate FIR on July 26, 2026, based on the same complaint.

Both FIRs cite Section 361(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for criminal breach of trust by a public servant and involve unverified material worth ₹12.25 lakh.

The duplicate FIR exposes a coordination gap between Ludhiana police stations and raises concerns over investigation and prosecution complications.

ACP Dev Singh acknowledged the procedural lapse and stated the matter would be examined.
