Himachal govt to formulate policy to provide relief in encroachment cases: Sukhu

Himachal chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state government is considering a policy to provide relief to poor and landless families residing on government land.

Sukhu stated the government is studying Supreme Court guidelines on encroachment cases before deciding.

Residents of newly included areas under the Hamirpur municipal corporation will receive a five-year exemption from municipal taxes.

A new bus stand costing ₹130 crore, the largest in Himachal, is under construction in Hamirpur.

The existing bus stand site will be redeveloped into a modern City Centre at a cost of about ₹200 crore.
