Faridabad man murders pregnant wife, tries to pass it off as robbery

A 32-year-old man was arrested for strangling his pregnant wife to death at their home in Greenfield Colony, Faridabad.

He tried to pass off the murder as a robbery by taking jewellery and ransacking the room.

The accused, a chef at a US-based five-star hotel in Delhi, suspected his wife of having an extramarital relationship after a phone conversation.

An autopsy confirmed strangulation; the woman's mother-in-law found her unconscious and she was declared dead at a private hospital in Sector 28.

An FIR under sections 103(1) (murder) and 80 (dowry death) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered against the husband and five in-laws.
