  1. IMD issued a red alert for the ghat areas of Pune district for July 31, warning of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places, excluding Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city areas.

  2. The alert warns that intense rainfall could trigger landslides, flash floods, reduced visibility, overflowing streams, and traffic disruptions in the Pune Ghat sections.

  3. A deep depression over west-central Chhattisgarh and adjoining Vidarbha and southeast Madhya Pradesh, interacting with an active monsoon trough and offshore trough, is expected to keep rainfall vigorous over western Maharashtra.

  4. Orange alerts were issued for ghat areas of Nashik and districts of Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Ahilyanagar, with heavy to very heavy rainfall likely.

  5. Yellow alerts were issued for some districts in Marathwada and Vidarbha for thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and moderate rainfall.
