Barabanki PAC constable found dead in barracks; suicide suspected

A 28-year-old PAC constable was found dead in his barracks at the 10th Battalion PAC campus in Barabanki district on Sunday, with suicide suspected.

The constable, a native of Meerut and member of the 2021 batch, allegedly hanged himself using a makeshift noose from a ceiling fan.

Preliminary investigations suggest he was battling depression and financial stress due to heavy debts from online gaming.

Police are examining his mobile phone and financial records, and no suicide note has been recovered.
