Visvesvaraya Technological University likely to make Scouts and Guides credit compulsory for students

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) likely to make Scouts and Guides a compulsory credit for students starting this year.

Students must earn one credit through Scouts and Guides to graduate.

VTU vice-chancellor S Vidyashankar announced the decision at a principals' meet.

Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) Karnataka urged VTU to introduce the credit-based course to ensure serious implementation.

BSG also requested VTU to start a certificate course to train teachers for Scouts and Guides.
