Bhiwandi residents protest demolition despite court order

Residents protested outside BNCMC headquarters alleging demolition of properties on Survey No. 95 at Nizampura despite a civil court injunction and ownership records in the name of Khalil Ahmed Sheikh.

Protesters accused Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sameer Javare and Beat Inspectors Ramakant Mhatre and Ravindra Jadhav of conducting the demolition on July 15 without proper verification and under political pressure.

Former BNCMC Leader of the House Vikas Nikam and former Deputy Mayor Ahmed Siddiqui led the protest, demanding suspension of the officials and action against illegal high-rise buildings in Ward Committee No. 1.

BNCMC Municipal Commissioner Anmol Sagar assured the delegation of an impartial inquiry within two days and action if officials violated legal procedures.
