₹16,649 crore is unclaimed in LIC policies and inoperative EPF accounts as per a Centre update to Parliament.

LIC holds ₹7,318.50 crore in unclaimed policyholder accounts as of 31 March 2026.

Inoperative EPF accounts contain ₹9,330.56 crore as of 31 March 2026.

Policyholders can check unclaimed amounts on LIC's website (www.licindia.in) using Date of Birth and name/PAN.

LIC contacts policyholders via letters, SMS, local branches, agents, and Bima Sakhis, and uses a Credit Bureau Agency to trace them.
