CBI charges 13 in NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case
CBI found that NEET-UG 2026 paper was leaked by teachers P V Kulkarni (chemistry), Manisha Gurunath Mandhare (physics), and Manisha Sanjay Havaldar (biology), who set and translated the paper, giving them prolonged access.
The teachers allegedly memorized questions, reconstructed them, and shared as 'very important' with students in their private coaching classes without disclosing they were exam questions.
Beautician Manisha Waghmare allegedly obtained the reconstructed questions from students, formatted them, and sold to Dhananjay Nivrutti Lokhande, who circulated across multiple states via middlemen.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 exam on May 12 after a tip-off; the CBI has arrested 13 people including the three teachers, Waghmare, and coaching associates.
CBI may recommend separating question-setting and translation responsibilities to prevent future leaks.
