Spain will deploy its military to Ceuta after thousands of migrants breached the border from Morocco.

Local authorities in Ceuta requested reinforcements as an estimated thousands of migrants crossed, overwhelming the border.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska plan to visit Ceuta on Friday.

The border “totally collapsed” according to the head of the Civil Guard officers association in Ceuta.

Morocco is cooperating with Spain to return all who entered illegally, but Moroccan authorities have not publicly commented.
