Mystery shrouds death of two water tank project workers in UP’s Hardoi

Two workers at a Jal Jeevan Mission water tank project in Uttar Pradesh's Hardoi district were found dead under mysterious circumstances on July 30, 2026.

The deceased were identified as Arun Chaurasia, 26, and Abhishek Chaurasia (also known as Bablu), 27, both from villages under Kachhauna police station.

Arun Chaurasia worked as a helper, and Abhishek Chaurasia was a pickup vehicle driver at the water tank construction site.

Police found both bodies with visible head and face injuries near a roadside field on the Atrauli route between Takiya and Atamau villages; a deep injury was noted near Arun's eye.

Hardoi SP Ashok Meena confirmed three teams led by the Sandila circle officer and additional superintendent of police (East) have been formed to investigate.
