Heavy rains bring relief in Kashmir

Widespread rains brought relief from hot weather across Kashmir on July 19, 2026.

Srinagar recorded 7.6mm of rain; Pahalgam recorded 9.8mm.

Day temperatures dropped significantly, e.g., Srinagar from 35.9°C to 29.2°C, Kupwara from 35.6°C to 27.6°C.

The meteorological centre in Srinagar predicted more rain over the next four days.

District administrations issued advisories urging people and tourists to avoid water bodies, hill slopes, and sand mining, and suspend activities on Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake.
