Uttar Pradesh panel discusses lawmakers’ demand for raising Vidhayak Nidhi allocation

  2. Legislators demanded increasing the annual Vidhayak Nidhi allocation from ₹5 crore, last raised from ₹3 crore in 2023.

  3. They sought GST exemption, arguing that 18% GST (about ₹90 lakh) is deducted from the fund, reducing available money for development.

  4. Members proposed raising medical assistance ceiling from ₹25 lakh to ₹50 lakh and removing the condition limiting aid to 'incurable' diseases.

  5. The committee also discussed raising the ₹2 lakh ceiling for distributing motorised tricycles to persons with disabilities.
