Third line works still going on as rail traffic on Karjat–Lonavala Ghat still disturbed

Restoration of the third railway line on Central Railway’s Karjat-Lonavla ghat section is ongoing with round-the-clock debris removal, embankment strengthening, and track repair.

Phased traffic blocks are being used to allow safe restoration work in the mountainous terrain while maintaining operations on other lines.

Several express trains are cancelled until July 28, including CSMT-Chennai Express (22157/22158), CSMT-Hyderabad Express (22732/22731), and others.

Long-distance trains are diverted via alternate routes such as Daund-Manmad-Igatpuri-Kalyan or Daund-Manmad-Jalgaon-Bhusaval-Surat.

Central Railway advises passengers to check latest train schedules before travel due to cancellations and diversions.
